Sandblasting of glass consists of blasting glass with a sharp sand. The disadvantage of sandblasted glass is it's maintenance, as grease and dirt easily adhere to the sharp pores of the blasted glass. Therefore, we recommend sealing the sanded glass in a melting furnace. As a result, the sharp pores of the glass are partially cast and the sanded area is slightly darkened. A fine impression from the melting bench will also appear on the back of the glass. Such treated sandblasted glass is not only well maintained but also, unlike other matt glass such as Matelux, is not easily scratched.
